Julia and Scott fell in love with this little bush retreat the moment they set foot on it. This hidden gem isn't the easiest to get to but the trouble is way worth it with all the different nature spots this beautiful New Zealand wedding venue has to offer. The two chose to say their "I dos" at a paddock overlooking a forest abundant in tall trees. The whole setting seemed like something out of a fairytale. We got extremely lucky with the weather, with the hot sunny morning turning into a pleasant overcast afternoon right on time for the ceremony to start.
After the ceremony formalities were finished, we stuck around the property for the bridal party and portrait photos while the guests were mingling nearby. The variety of landscape at this little venue was mind blowing, ranging from forest to hilly farmland to a river and lush rainforest.
For the reception, Julia and Scott had set up a marquee. Their friends and family were a huge help in bringing the party together, their services ranging from catering to setting up the venue. The atmosphere throughout the day was very warm and intimate.
A little river flows through the property, separating the ceremony and reception areas that Julia and Scott had chosen. The eels inhabiting the river provided the guests and especially the children a lot to marvel at! When the sun started retreating behind the nearby hills, everyone took their seats under the marquee for dinner and speeches before putting on their dancing shoes to party to their heart's content. I felt really lucky to have been part of this gorgeous intimate wedding as Julia and Scott's Waikato wedding photographer.
